ABOUT ME
My passion is exploring and experimenting with the construction of visual and social meaning and how the visual arts can foster generative environments. In other words, the semiotics of Socially engaged Art Practice. Having studied at Kansai University Japan, I'm a speaker of the Japanese language. My undergraduate dissertation was an investigation into the graphic communicative form of Japanese calligraphy and its history.
My current research is investigating the historic and contemporary practice of the Japanese tea ceremony as an environment of socially engaged art practice
Cross-cultural communication is a strong thread in my life. Having volunteered and worked with such organisations, domestic and international, my work is continuously playing with subjective and objective ideas of understanding regarding faith and spirituality.
